Vaultless Support

Help with setting up Vaultless, your Master Key, sign-ins, mail, AutoFill, and recovery.

Set up your first sign-in

Start Vaultless without creating an account

Choose Protect an account, select a real service you use, then create and verify the two-part Master Key. Vaultless creates and saves an email address and password for that service.

No Vaultless account is needed to start. After setup, you can add an optional recovery sign-in in the app. Existing recovery accounts can still sign in.

Finish the sign-in on the outside service

Ready in Vaultless means the address and password are saved in the app. It does not mean the outside website or app has changed.

Open that service and create the account or change its email and password yourself. Confirm the outside service accepted the update before treating the move as complete.

Keep both parts somewhere you control

Why Vaultless asks for a Master Key

Vaultless uses your Master Key with the website and saved password settings to recreate the same password on your device. You’ll need both parts again when the app asks you to unlock it.

What the Master Key ID can do

The Master Key ID identifies and verifies the expected Master Key. It is not secret, is not a backup, and cannot recreate either part.

If the Master Key is lost

Vaultless and support cannot recover it. The Master Key ID and an existing recovery account do not replace it. Before resetting anything, open Recovery & Transfer so the app can show what your prepared recovery method can restore.

We’re testing Vaultless for iPhone

We’re testing account setup and the rest of the app on physical devices before a wider release. There’s no public download link on this site yet. You can try the interactive examples on the home page without sharing an email, password, or Master Key.

Mail and AutoFill

Sign in to Web Mail

At vaultlessmail.com, choose Approve in the app. In Vaultless, open Settings → Mail → Web Mail, enter the browser’s code, and review the sign-in. Only approve a code from a browser where you started signing in.

You can choose to save a passkey after approval on a device you trust. On later visits, choose Use a passkey. Remove browser sessions and passkeys from the Web Mail screen in the app.

For a shared computer, prepare Temporary Web Mail in the app before leaving your phone. Each login ID needs its own eight-word access phrase. Mail and drafts stay in the browser page’s memory; reloading clears drafts. Sign out before leaving.

Understand the Mail privacy level

Ordinary mail is access-controlled but is not end-to-end encrypted. Vaultless and the mail providers process content and routing data so it can be delivered. Shared-key mail separately protects the subject, body, and attachments; routing metadata remains visible.

Turn on AutoFill and Passkeys

Open Settings → AutoFill & Passkeys in Vaultless and follow the iPhone setup. The status on that screen shows the exact next action.

Vaultless can fill or offer a saved credential on supported sign-in screens. It does not press the final submit, sign-in, or create-account button for you.

Prepare before changing phones

Use account-free recovery

Open Recovery & Transfer from Settings. Choose the method you’ve prepared: online recovery with your Recovery Phrase, an encrypted backup file, or a transfer from your old device. Current backup files use your two-part Vaultless Key; an older file may ask for its Recovery Phrase.

Keep the phrase and backup somewhere you control, preferably in separate places. Support cannot replace a lost phrase or decrypt the backup for you.

What a recovery sign-in does

A recovery sign-in helps locate your existing account. Completing recovery also requires your Master Key and any protected recovery material the app asks for. Signing in alone cannot reveal your Master Key or unlock your saved passwords.

Delete a compatibility recovery account

In Vaultless, open Settings → Vaultless Account → Delete account. This permanently deletes the recovery account, server aliases, stored mail, recovery snapshots, sessions, and push registrations. The local password vault remains on this device unless you separately reset local data.

If you cannot reach that screen, contact support from the account email address.

Send context, never secrets

For product help, include your device model, iOS version, Vaultless app version, the screen you were on, the exact error, and the approximate time it happened. Do not send a password, either part of the Master Key, a recovery phrase, private key, shared mail key, or backup file.

For mail abuse, include full message headers and relevant timestamps when it is safe to do so.
